Let’s do something else. Everyone has an LS swap in everything. Go to a car show and everyones got some sort of V8 in their T-bucket or street touring muscle car. What unique and fun engine would you pick to go in this Nice ‘68 Camaro...that isn’t a V8?
I suppose the only V8 I would allow is a Falconeer re-engineered old Aurora Indycar V8.

For some reason my first thought was Cummins 6BT....I don't know why, but I'll go with it

I like that. You and the V10 Ford suggestion. Ultimate trollsters.

I wanted to put the M52 out of my e36 into my 62 fury lemons car, but everyone talked me out of it.
For that camaro... How about a Lada engine? Or a Jaguar V12?

Fueled by the tears of GM fanboys. 4 rotor rotary.

If you’re liking the ultimate trolls, how about the 3.5L Ford Ecoboost Twin Turbo with the tune for the Ford GT:

Do massive weight reduction work on the camaro the drop in an f20 from an s2000 and throw on a super charger. Because supercharged 4 banger camaro with a 9k redline! Then I would get a license plate that read “VTEC yo” to really blow peoples mind. There is replacement for displacement and its called the F20!

2016 Ecotec 4 turbo.

With an Edsel steering-wheel having push-button trans. I know it’s a V8, deal with it. The other option is a V12 Seagrave fire engine engine.

A turbo I6.
One of the SBC’s best attributes is it’s low weight; any heavy replacement engine would be dumb.

Not going to lie, this weekend I came up with the ultimate trolling motor swap.
Tesla P90D + F20 + 76mm turbo. Mount the motor in the back for a mid-engined setup. All exhaust plumbing hidden, radiator hidden as well. Loud as hell exhaust, lots o’ boost and some flashy loud paint job.
Win all the two step competitions.

Hey, a Tempest slant four belongs in the 1st gen Firebird.
![]() 08/03/2015 at 13:47 |

The new Camaro will have a turbo 6. Predictable, but it would be awesome.
EDIT: No, I remembered that wrong. Turbo 4. Why not?

Because pistons are over rated (not really), and the confusion/ this would generate would be amazing.

GM atlas inline six with a big roots blower. Because why the hell not?
![]() 08/03/2015 at 13:58 |
|
Yes. I agree. I, kinda wanted to run an Atlas-5 with a roots blower for the obnoxious noise....make it handle too. That would be a great driving car. A friend of mine was thinking of an Atlas-6 in a old C-10 but after looking around for parts and aftermarket goodies, settles on an LS swap with a single turbo into that C-10. Kind of got attention with it on the power tour and that 1320 website. So it works....but I would have done something other.

This might be more fun.
Basically tear apart a brand new, not even out Ford Focus RS, AWD and 320HP Turbo 4.

This reminds me of a conversation with a friend a while back. His grandfather had a scrapyard and had gotten in the shell of a stingray corvette. No drivetrain or suspension but otherwise complete(if rough). He and I were pondering what would be the ultimate troll-mobile to make out of the car. The idea was that each piece had to be sacrilegious both in manufacturer and type.
I think the final horrible configuration was a Jeep/AMC 4-cyl engine, mated to a Chrysler 727 automatic, sending power to a non-posi solid rear axle from a Toyota pickup, with a Ford model A front axle beam & drum brake front suspension. Oh, and the car would be column shifted and have a bench seat.

GMC V12

The turbo 4 out of the new mustang for the anti SBC swap.
While we’re on it: I freaking hate the Ford with a Heartbeat stickers.

Because you found one without an engine...

I’ve wanted to put one of those in a box Nova for years now, but I don’t think it would fit without a giant cowl induction hood. I think it would be perfect in a pickup, though.

Aston Martin V12. I don’t know why, but it just seems awesome.
Yes, I know it probably wouldn't fit.
![]() 08/03/2015 at 14:48 |

Hm. Interesting thought. Do you go with a worse chassis than the car had originally, forcing you to hack up the factory body in the process? Or do you stay with the original chassis so people know you started with an essentially complete car and instead of simply bolting up good parts, took an extra effort to modify it to accept worse parts.
![]() 08/03/2015 at 14:49 |
|
You don’t have to hack up the body. Just hack up the S-10 chassis to fit the body. Any fitting that would be required is avoided by lifting the body enough to get it clear.
![]() 08/03/2015 at 14:55 |

I like the way you think.
Me, I’d go with the 1.4 turbo out of the Sonic RS. Just to troll people.

I thought they were very close relatives of the LS series?

If I read the tag and saw it was a I6 car then maybe I'd put one back in. Though I've had a 67 with a 250 I6 and it was a sad performing car

You didn’t have this i6
($45k from Ryan Falconer) *cough*

Just based off it being a DOHC engine I’d guess no, but I’m not sure.

Synergy V8
or the 2.0T out of the ATS.
